Belonging at Tolcarne

Our boarding residence is called Tolcarne. It’s just a 10 minute walk from St Hilda’s and up to 150 girls call it home, at any one time. You’ll find it in the beautiful surroundings of the town belt, overlooking the city and harbour.

We believe in creating a home where our girls feel completely at ease. Living by the same family values anyone would be proud of: belonging, empathy, inclusion, integrity, and of course, fun. Boarding at Tolcarne adds to the St Hilda’s experience, growing the girls’ confidence, social skills, and maturity.

Student safety is at the heart of everything we do. We have a high trust model, based on a good communication from the girls – letting us know where they are going, and what they are doing. The girls enjoy a little more freedom at each year level, reflecting their age and privilege.

Students who are deeply cared for feel they belong. When they belong, they start to believe in themselves and build their self-belief and confidence. When they believe, they can then become whatever they want to be.

We ask that our parents “trust in Tolcarne”.
